Marcia Parker
Bio
Marcia Parker is serving as launch manager for California Watch. A veteran print and online journalist, she has more than 20 years of experience reporting, editing and managing at major media outlets and in academia. Until last May, she served as assistant dean of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Her online experience includes business development, programming and content responsibilities at Globe 7, which runs leading social-networking sites in Asia; AOL Time Warner’s business sites; Intuit’s Quicken.com; and consulting for Yahoo and several start ups. She has been a reporter and editor, including managing editor and business editor for the Contra Costa Times, founded two magazines, and has done extensive training for media outlets in California and around the nation. Marcia received her master’s degree from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
